Overview
A Ladle Refining Furnace (LRF), also called a Ladle Furnace (LF), is a secondary steelmaking furnace used to refine molten steel after it leaves the primary melting furnace, such as an Induction Furnace (IF) or Electric Arc Furnace (EAF).
The LRF improves the quality of already molten steel by precisely controlling temperature, chemistry, cleanliness, and composition before casting.
